Increase your Amazon sessions

An Amazon session is when a customer clicks onto your listing from search pages. It is key that your listing generates a high amount of sessions from your keyword as the more sessions your listing generates, the more potential customers you have to sell to.

Increasing your sessions also have a huge impact on your amazon search rank. Amazon will rank your product higher as it shows them your product is relevant and has a high chance of selling. Basically:

More Sessions = Higher Rank and Higher Rank = More Sessions

Let’s talk!

What Makes A Good Product Photo

Now that you know why product images are so important to your brand’s success online, let’s examine what actually makes a good product image. Based on the brands that are most successful, we have found that the most effective and eye-catching product images share these characteristics:

  • Products are shown against a completely white background
  • If the product is close up and takes up most of the image (not too much empty space)
  • The image is very clear and high quality

Keep in mind that, it’s important to showcase your product as it would appear in stores. This means that if your product would be packaged when sold in stores, then your image should be of your product in its packaging.

What to Avoid

In general, you don’t want your product images to have any distracting features or a busy background, as these will look less professional and can make it difficult to see the product. These are some characteristics you want to avoid when taking your product images:

  • Grainy, low-pixel photos
  • Dark or shadowy images
  • Photos where the product only takes up ½ or less of the total image
  • Any words, logos, or watermarks in your image
  • Images where the product is sideways or upside down
  • Images of anything other than your product (e.g. image of cow when selling milk)
  • Images of your product without its packaging if it is sold in packaging

What our customers say about us

I would highly recommend D.W. Images Photography. I felt so out of my comfort zone but David put me at ease very quickly. I now have headshots which are natural, relaxed and professional.

Karen Mckenzie

Dave did some head shots for us at Windowpains and he produced some fantastic pictures making us feel really relaxed and natural. Highly recommend!

Andy Harris

I finally look like a professional on all my business related sites and media accounts, instead of drunk and on holiday (which I was when my previous photo was taken!) – thank you David!
